When integrating Google AdSense into this portfolio, the primary constraint was user experience. Ads must not break the Apple HIG-inspired aesthetic, nor can they be intrusive (e.g., full-page interstitials or auto-playing video trackers).
We opted for highly contextual, non-personalized ad units placed strictly at the conclusion of long-form reading content. By avoiding 'above the fold' monetization, we prioritize the user's initial impression and interaction with the core tools (like the ISO Checklist or the Godot Tetris game) without distraction.
Privacy and Transparency
Modern regulatory environments (GDPR, CCPA) demand aggressive transparency regarding third-party trackers. Implementing AdSense securely meant stripping away personalized ad targeting to prevent Google from building shadow profiles of our visitors.
